The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; Exodus 34:6-7.
Remember the words above are directly from God, not a Prophet or a High Priest. I Am said these words as He passed by Moses. So as we wait on the Lord, as we wait in doubt and think maybe God is displeased with us because our timing has not come. Remember HIS words.
Where there is no vision the people perish (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)…when there is no hope in Christ the people perish. Seeing God always transforms human life. Remember these stories… after encounting God, Abram became Abraham, Moses became the leader that led the Israelites out of Egypt, Jacob became Israel, Gideon took the Israelites in to the promised land and Saul became Paul.
Reading Exodus 32 (The Golden Calf) all 35 verses, I kept shaking my head and thinking how could the Israelites turn so quickly, how could they have forgotten so soon the red sea, the cloud before them and the fire that guided them at night. Moses was gone for 40 days, a month and 10 days. Then a thought came to my mind, how am I so different from the Israelites. See my own actions in my own desert. The Lord made me two promises and as I struggled in my barren land, I had forgotten them. I too became forgetful, forgetting the past triumphs and blessings my Lord brought me through.
